American alternative rock band Paramore "Monster" was released on June 7, 2011 for digital download. It is also the second single from the Transformers: Dark of the Moon OST, which was released on June 14, 2011. It is the first song to not feature former band members Josh and Zac Farro, who separated from the band in 2010.

A sneak peek of the song surfaced when lead singer Hayley Williams posted lyrics on the band's Official Fan Club. An audio video for the song was posted on YouTube on June 2, 2011. The video itself achieved over 1,000,000 views in the first three days of posting. This song won Best Rock Track at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards.
The music video was directed by Shane Drake, who has directed some of Paramore's previous music videos. On July 15, the band's official website posted a video via YouTube of a 19-second clip previewing the music video.The song was premiered on MTV.com July 18 at 12:00 Midnight and at 6am on MTV 2. The music video opens with Hayley, Taylor and Jeremy unconscious and floating on water. Hayley opens her eyes and begins to sing as the video cuts to the band performing in a concrete room while kicking and punching the wall. Another scene shows each of the band members alone and wandering through an abandoned hospital building. The kicking and punching from the band performing causes violent explosions around the members wandering around and all three proceed to run away. The three eventually meet up in a foyer and continue running away together before ducking into the concrete room in which they were performing earlier.

American band Maroon 5 featuring American pop singer Christina Aguilera has latest song "Moves Like Jagger" It was released for digital download on June 21, 2011 in conjunction with a live performance of the song on The Voice the same day. "Moves Like Jagger" was written by Adam Levine, Benjamin Levin, Ammar Malik and Shellback, and was produced by Shellback and Benny Blanco. It was later included on a re-release of the band's third studio album, Hands All Over (2011). The song's lyrics refer to a male protagonist's ability to impress a female with his dance moves, of which he compares to those of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. "Moves Like Jagger" debuted at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100, therefore making it the band's first top-ten single since "Makes Me Wonder" (2007), and Aguilera's first top-ten since "Keeps Gettin' Better" (2008). The song was a number-one single on the Canadian and New Zealand charts and was also a top-ten hit in most countries that it charted. The song also marks the first time two former Best New Artist Grammy Award winners have collaborated on a Hot 100 hit.The music video directed by Jonas Akerlund and was released on August 8th. The video not only features Christina Aguilera, but it also features some old video footage of Mick Jagger himself and his iconic moves. The single has so far peaked at number 3 in both the UK and US.

American recording artist Lady Gaga has a new song you and i was released as the fourth single from her second studio album, Born This Way (2011). Written by Gaga and co-produced with Robert John "Mutt" Lange, "Yoü and I" is a rock and roll-influenced song that samples Queen's "We Will Rock You" (1977) and features electric guitar by Brian May. The song was debuted by Gaga in June 2010 during her performance at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball. Footage of the performance appeared on the Internet, and positive response encouraged her to incorporate the song into her setlist for The Monster Ball Tour. She subsequently performed the song on Today to a record crowd in July 2010, and on The Oprah Winfrey Show in May 2011.

THe song was inspired by Gaga's relationship with former boyfriend Lüc Carl, and is a slow tempo song featuring instrumentation from electric guitars and piano, with Gaga and Lange providing background vocals. The song received positive critical appreciation, with reviewers listing it as one of the highlights from Born This Way. After the release of the parent album, "Yoü and I" charted in Canada, United Kingdom and the United States, due to digital downloads from the parent album. Season ten American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart performed "Yoü and I" in May 2011 prior to its release, earning positive reviews. Her studio recording was released to the iTunes Store as a single, and appeared on the compilation album, American Idol Top 5 Season 10.
