The song was later announced as the album's fourth single and released on February 11, 2011. The single version features vocals by American rapper Kanye West, who will also appear in its Floria Sigismondi-directed music video. Leading its release as a promotional single, it charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 42, and the single version has peaked at number 28. Next the release of the album, the song debuted at number forty-two on the Billboard Hot 100 selling 64,000 digital copies. In Canada, "E.T." debuted at number thirteen on the Canadian Hot 100.
